Jeewan's daughter Malsha to enter politics

Minister of postal services Jeewan Kumaratunga's eldest daughter Malsha Kumaratunga is to contest the upcoming Western Provincial Council polls under the UPFA ticket.

Malsha says that she decided to enter politics based on experiences of her father's political life and her own educational background.

It is said that Jeewan is delighted with her daughter's decision.

He has said that Malsha's name has been entered to the WP nomination list and has a fair chance of being approved.

Receiving her primary and secondary education at Wycherley International, Malsha later went to UK to read for a degree in Law.

She is currently married to architect Harshamana Panditharathna.

Popular actor and UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayaka is her uncle while veteran actor - late Wijaya Kumaratunga is a great uncle.

Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga is her great aunt.
